Our team understands that determining the ring size for yourself or your fiancée might be needlessly frustrating, especially if you're trying to keep your proposal plans secret from your loved one. Suppose you are planning to propose to your partner and want to ensure that it will be as worry-free as possible, especially if it is a surprise proposal. You can leave the measurement to us! We recommend visiting any of our showrooms to ensure you receive the most accurate measurements. If that is not an option for you, you can contact us and send us photos of your hand or the hand of your future fiancée. By estimating the finger size from photographs, our team members can get very close to the actual size, which isn't easy, but they're experienced at it.


Because fingers naturally expand when active, we always recommend our customers get a slightly bigger ring so that the ring is guaranteed to fit the day of the proposal. In the event that, after she has said yes, the ring does not fit perfectly, she can always have it resized by visiting one of our NOVITA showrooms. Since NOVITA knows how important it is for an engagement ring to fit perfectly, one free ring resizing is included with most rings (valid for one year after purchase).

Alternatively, you can order our free ring sizer if you are unable to visit one of our showrooms or any other jewellery store to have the finger measured.

TIP: Make sure our free ring sizer, or any other ring sizer, fits snugly on your ring finger to ensure a comfortable and secure fit. As a rule, engagement rings are designed to be tight and difficult to remove.

If you'd like to find your or your fiancé's ring size from the comfort of your own home, download and print our "How to find your ring size" guide. Inside you'll find two easy methods for measuring ring sizes.

It starts with the ruler you can cut out and use to measure the ring finger directly. Simply follow the included instructions, and you will your size in no time.

The second method measures the current ring that you or a loved one wears, not the finger. Take out one of the rings she or you wear, but make sure it is not for the thumb or the pinkie finger. Then match the ring with printed circles to find its size. For people already wearing comfortable and well-worn rings, this method works perfectly.

You can, however, order a free ring sizer kit that will be delivered to you if you wish to get an even more exact measurement. Generally, you should receive your ring sizer within 1-4 days if you reside in Germany. Depending on your location, ordering from outside Germany may take up to 14 days. Trying on the rings in person is the best way by far to guarantee that the ring size fits your partner perfectly if they are on in your upcoming proposal. Visit any of our showrooms, and our staff will be more than happy to accurately measure the finger size for a comfortable and secure ring. For those who live in areas without a NOVITA showroom yet, you can instead visit a local jewellery store to have your finger measured, often for free.

Helpful Tips

  1. On cold days your fingers may be slightly smaller.
  2. On hot days your fingers may be slightly swollen.
  3. Wider rings will feel tighter.
  4. Usually, our dominant hand is slightly bigger.
  5. Thinner rings will feel looser.
  6. We can try to estimate the finger size if you send us photos of her hand.
  7. If unsure, the most common sizes are M - N /6 - 6.5
